The KGM R556A2 is a robust suppressor designed to meet and exceed SOCOM specifications for full-auto firing, accuracy, repeatability, sound suppression, and minimal impact on a rifle’s operating system. The R556A2 offers superb sound reduction on 5.56 rifles of every barrel length, including taming 10.5-11.5″ SBRs. Beginning summer 2024, the R556A2 has the bore EDM cut open to accommodate 6mm cartridges such as the 6mm ARC.
As a minimized backpressure design, the R556A2 achieves this performance by efficiently managing gas flow through the suppressor to ensure minimal disruption to the rifle’s performance. In addition, redirecting the gas flow away from the bullet’s flight path enhances precision. Simultaneously, the engineered gas flow passes through the suppressor to reduce flash, recoil, and sound.
The R556A2 is built to last, featuring an Inconel core, with stainless steel components, and laser welded together, ensuring an extended service life, even after enduring years of hard use. Additionally, the KGM in-house finishes the R556A2 with gas-phase nitride to further harden the suppressor. The R556A2 was built to handle M855A1 from barrels as short as 6.5”. This core design has withstood over 20 US SOCOM SURG test cycles without failure. The R556A2 is finished in the durable, chemical and heat-resistant C-Series Cerakote.
The R556A2 includes one, 1/2×28 QD Flash Hider.
